Day 1 The blind walk
Blindfolded, I was led by Angela to walk across the huge white cube room.
Overwhelmed and startled at first, I soon learned to build trust with her and let her take complete control over us.
The lights and shadows, the sound around me, the touch in her hand, everything that I used to ignore all of a sudden played such an important source of input and began to amplify.
This experience was so fun and educational. I felt taken care of in a vulnerable situation, which is utterly out of my comfort zone- I am always so scared to be vulnerable.
A few months later I paid a visit to a special restaurant to celebrate my friend’s birthday – Dans le Noir (In the Dark), where we dined in pitch black. We sang the happy birthday song to her in the dark and it brought her to tears. As a less sensible person, I never used to understand how people build strong connections on shared emotions, but at that point, I began to understand everything.
